Jon Lim was born and raised in Kailua, HI (on the island of Oahu). He journeyed to “the mainland” for college when he moved to the Boston area in 1996, and has lived there ever since. Jongraduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a BA in East Asian Studies after writing his senior honors thesis on foreign involvement in Chinese orphanages -- an experience that led to his longstanding role on the Care for Children US board. After doing research at Harvard Business School, he began his investment career at Summit Partners. Following a return to Harvard Business School to earn his MBA, Jon spent many years on the team at Polaris Partners. Since 2011, Jon has led healthcare IT and services investment efforts at F-Prime Capital. 

Jon on growth:

Ever since I was in elementary school, I have benefited from and been shaped by mentorship and coaching across many spheres of life. Yet I know of no other platform such as TEND where such high quality resources and careful content creation are aggregated in one place, optimizing effective delivery of coaching and nurturing. For me, growth usually involves first (humbly) acknowledging weaknesses, wounds, lack of character or skills; and, often with the patient help of another, reflection that leads to deeper understanding of oneself or relationships so that ultimately new leaves can push out the old, transformative healing can begin to occur, traits that once seemed purely aspirational can start to actually take shape.
